Internal Job Description Global Scientific Communications Lead SGZ China & Emerging Markets    Job Description: The Global Scientific Communications Lead Sanofi Genzyme (SGZ) China & EM will build the scientific data dissemination strategy and ensure its execution in China & EM. The portfolio will consist of SGZ products and can be adapted based on workload. This role will report to the Global Scientific Communications Head China & EM. He/she will play a key role in the planning and execution of the publication plans included in the global China & Emerging Markets brand plans for SGZ and will work closely with  global cross-functional teams across China & EM regions /countries as well as with the SZ GBU publications team. He/she will have responsibility for developing the annual publication budget for the respective SGZ products, for monitoring the budget for publications during the year and managing costs against the budget and ensuring all publication KPIs are met. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a passionate, high profile, high-impact Medical Affairs team, and work in a highly dynamic and collaborative setting.  Occasional travel will be required for major congresses and internal meetings. The location of the position is open, though Boston or Paris are preferred to ease interactions with internal stakeholders. Major Responsibilities: Lead the strategy and creation of the yearly global publications plans for SGZ products in China & EM as well as periodic updates to these plans.Ensure appropriate tracking and execution of the publications tactical plan. Oversee (and when needed contribute to) the preparation of high quality abstracts, posters, slide decks and manuscripts according to established timelines and procedures, and on budget.Manage external vendors/service providers in assisting with publications planning and executionManage external and internal resources in the development of tactics and event planning to meet objectives in a cost-efficient and timely manner, effectively using project management skills to track and coordinate activitiesDevelop and maintain expertise in SGZ therapeutic area in general including overall treatment options, and Sanofi product data.Identify and engage external  experts when appropriate, as authors for publication  development. Organize  publications/steering committees as neededWork closely with the SGZ global medical franchise to ensure alignment and cooperation between the global medical leads and the Scientific Communications team.Meet regularly with the Global Scientific Communications Head China & EM and keep him/her completely informed of tactical progress and/or concerns. Knowledge and Skills: Experience and demonstrated skill in the analysis, communication and presentation of complex scientific dataProven track record of prior scientific publications in support of product launch.Knowledge of industry guidelines pertaining to data dissemination  and interactions with health care providersExcellent interpersonal skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to deliver in an international , fast-paced  and matrix environmentDemonstrated ability to manage several complex  projects simultaneouslyBudget planning experienceAbility to think strategically and translate strategy into tangible and actionable plansRigorous, flexible and solution oriented Qualifications: Advanced scientific or clinical degree in the life sciences (e.g., Ph.D., Pharm.D., M.D.)5+ years within a pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare organization (Medical Affairs experience)At least 2 years of specific Publications experience with a proven track record of successful strategic and tactical planning of PublicationsKnowledge of and expertise in the field of SGZ products preferredExperience managing external medical communications agencies and/or contract medical writers
