Global Marketing Excellence Lead Based Reading, UK or Paris, France. About the Opportunity In this high profile position you will support Sanofi across all four business units to capitalise upon our strategic marketing capability, here you will leverage the marketing excellence thinking from the Global Marketing Excellence Council to develop great marketers with leading edge capabilities by focusing on the required skills, tools, processes, talent, culture and our play to win strategy. Our vision is to allow our Sanofi Marketing community to drive competitiveness by getting better answers to the right strategic questions. You will be contributing to thought leadership across the strategic priorities for Marketing, designed to accelerate performance across our entire population of Marketers. Here you will operate at a strategic and at operational level. Ideally you will be a marketing expert with a very good knowledge of digital and have a strong and genuine interest for transforming Sanofi’s Marketing Capabilities in the context of ‘Marketing in a Digital and rapidly changing external world’ This role is a springboard for those candidates who want to play a key role in transforming Sanofi’s Marketing capabilities and who are possibly looking to springboard into a general management role in the future. Great talent who would benefit from working transversally and with internal/external thought leaders in Marketing would also find this role appealing. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and execution of foundational and advanced capability building programmes, in addition to ‘sprint solutions’ like skill deep dives. Champion and advocate the ‘Winning Choices Framework’ (‘where to play’ and ‘how to win’) and co-ordinate a consistent and co-ordinated x GBU approach to brand planning as a key output of this. Partner with the GBU MEx Lead to magnify the impact of capability efforts within each GBU (e.g. Marketing Skills Catalyst, Brand Planning, Circus Street, Insight Deep Dive, Winning Way of Marketing Way/On-boarding, MEx Awards, MEx Portal etc.). Collaborate with the cross GBU MEx Leads on strategic priorities, ensuring best practice is continuously shared within and outside of the GBU. Leverage the 120 strong MEx Champions network to land and embed change across Sanofi. Provide Marketing thought leadership for specific programs and be able to contextualize relevant and specific GBU thinking where relevant. Be a renowned and credible ‘go-to’ expert for Marketers at all levels, coaching and sharing knowledge when and where required. Engage and participate in the face to face/virtual MEx Council meetings (4 times a year). Facilitate workshops, constructively challenging and critiquing teams to deliver better quality thinking and results. Champion a common consistent Marketing language throughout the organisation. Direct management and development of 1 person (tbc). About You To excel in this role you will need to have: Marketing expertise; a depth of knowledge and thinking in several skill areas (including digital) with proven performance in recognised Pharma/OTC/FMCG companies. Good working knowledge of ‘Winning Choices’ framework, supporting tools, systems and global/local ways of working, or a high aptitude to learn it fast. Strong strategic thinking, creative problem solving and decision making skills. Passion for transformation and coaching; a strong desire and curiosity to continuously learn and improve self and others. Strong organisational awareness – skilful at knowing how to navigate, leverage, collaborate and deliver results within the matrix. Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills in English. French language skills favourable, but not essential. Education: up to degree level or equivalent, or a professional qualification. International experience; working outside of own cultural environment and across multiple countries is a distinct advantage.
